Stargate Atlantis DVD Box Sets
The Stargate Atlantis DVD box set is great for viewers that like science fiction, drama and comedy combined in one show. Stargate Atlantis, a spin-off of the science fiction television series Stargate SG-1, was a collaborative effort between Americans and Canadians. The series was filmed in Vancouver, Canada and debuted in July 2004 on the Sci Fi Channel in the United States. After five seasons, the last Stargate Atlantis episode aired on January 9, 2009.
Created by Brad Wright and Robert C. Cooper, Stargate Atlantis is the story of humans who travel to the Pegasus Galaxy. Their expeditions take place in the lost city, Atlantis, on the planet Lantea.
The Stargate Atlantis crew comes into contact with the Wraith, the enemies that defeated the Ancients, the original Atlantis inhabitants. After their defeat, the Ancients submerged Atlantis into Lantea's ocean. The Stargate Atlantis crew hunts for secrets of the Ancients, a highly advanced civilization, and battles the Wraiths and other enemies, including the Genii and Asurans, along the way. You can watch your favorite Stargate Atlantis adventures again and again with a DVD box set. Casting changed over the life of the sci-fi series.
Three characters that remained on the show throughout the five-season run are Ancient technology expert John Sheppard (Joe Flanigan), scientist Rodney McKay (David Hewlett), and Athosian leader Teyla Emmagan (Rachel Luttrell).
