Smallville
If you like science fiction, action, and adventure, the Smallville DVD box set may be just what you are looking for. The American television series began its broadcasting years with the cable network, The WB. The WB merged with cable network UPN to become The CW, which is currently the Smallville broadcasting network. Smallville first aired in October 2001 and began its eighth season in September 2008.
Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, Smallville is about the life of Superman, the DC Comics character, before he becomes a superhero. The series is set in Smallville, Kansas, a fictional Midwestern town. Filming for Smallville actually takes place in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and its surrounding areas.

The first seasons focus on Clark Kent (Superman) during his high school years, and the more recent seasons follow Clark and his friends as they attend college. The series begins with Clark discovering his superhuman powers and learning to deal with this unique characteristic. Smallville episodes include true-to-life situations as well as imaginative science fiction events. Additional DC Comics characters, both villains and other superheroes, are included in the episodes. Tom Welling plays Clark Kent. Annette O'Toole and John Schneider play Clark's adoptive parents, Martha and Jonathan Kent.
